A high protein vegan breakfast using tempeh for higher proteins

It can be challenging to find vegan breakfast recipes that are both delicious and filling. We love cereals, smoothie bowls and PB&Js but when you have a busy day ahead of you, something more filling is in order.

In this article we share high protein breakfast recipes that will make sure your day gets off to a great start! Just to make things better, all these high protein recipes contain tempeh. And are super delicious 😉  
No wonder many people say that breakfast is their favourite meal of the day!

1. English Breakfast with Tempeh Rashers

Thanks to tempeh rashers and baked beans, this is a high-protein vegan breakfast for sure! This delicious breakfast also includes avocado, mushrooms, potato waffles and sourdough toast. Trust us, it will fill you up! Perfect for those mornings when you don’t have to rush.

2. Avocado and Tempeh Bacon on Toast

Avocado toast is so simple, yet so delicious! And the addition of tempeh takes this toast to another level. Tempeh Rashers add protein, fibre and a nice bite to this vegan breakfast: always a good idea.

You might be more used to having a BLT for lunch than breakfast but it’s great in the mornings, too. This plant-based BLT is full of flavour and contains plenty of protein. And we can’t forget the carbs! Thanks to bread, this vegan breakfast has a good amount of those, too.

4. Sizzling Pancakes with Sweet & Smoky Tempeh Rashers

This pancake stack with tempeh rashers is the breakfast of champions! Both sweet and savoury, packed with protein and oh so fluffy… What more could you ask for? Also, you need less than ten ingredients to make this dreamy breakfast!

If you’re pressed for time, you can simply add cooked tempeh rashers on top of toasted bread along with vegan spread and you’re good to go. So, have a bite of tempeh toast or pancakes and get ready to take on the day! A cup of coffee always helps, too 😉

What is tempeh?

We’ve been going on and on about tempeh but you might be wondering what exactly it is. Tempeh is an all natural, plant-based protein that is typically made with soybeans. Tempeh originates in Indonesia and is high in protein and fibre. Beyond being super nutritious, tempeh has a great, firm texture and it’s super versatile so you can use it in various ways.
